Projects
- Thunder Valley Community House – The community house is used for traditional Lakota ceremonies, community gatherings, youth meetings and general community events.
- Youth Leadership Development – The youth leadership development program empowers youth to learn about Lakota culture, history, environmental justice, political education, community organizing, healthy lifestyles and sacred sites.
- Renewable Energy – We plan to use renewable technologies such as wind and solar energy to make the Thunder Valley Community House self-sustaining, and in the building of our Wellness Center.
- Community Development Projects – We are in the early stages of three community development projects. These projects will carry our work forward into job creation and economic infrastructure for Thunder Valley.
- Thunder Valley Wellness Center – We plan to build a state-of-the-art youth and family wellness center, a positive place for youth and their families to begin living a healthier way of life.
- Master Community Development Plan – We are in the process of creating a community development and land use plan for the Thunder Valley Community.
- OYATE OMNICIYE | Oglala Lakota Plan – We are leading a reservation-wide effort to develop a Regional PLan for Sustainable Development.
