As we make our way into the 21st century, we always need to be developing positive young leaders who will create a better future for our community, tribe and nation. Our youth leadership program will help to develop young leaders by empowering them to learn more about Lakota culture, environmental justice, history, political education, treaty rights, community organizing, healthy lifestyles and sacred sites. Most importantly, this program will strengthen the cultural identity of young people, giving them a solid spiritual foundation from which to grow and learn. The components of the Youth Leadership Development Program are:
- Youth Mentoring – Peer mentoring
- Sacred Sites – Cultural and environmental education
- Decolonization and Political Education – Comprehensive training
